Altria said today that it plans to spin off its international tobacco unit.  Details on the spin off will not be made public until January.  The company also raised it quarterly dividend by 8.7% to 75 cents a share.  Analysts were expecting a dividend increase of 10%.  This spin off is the second of recent Altria spin offs, the first being Kraft which was separated as part of the companies restructuring plans earlier this year.
