Microsoft vs. Yahoo – The Alibaba Effect

Alibaba management has concerns about how the Chinese government would view a combination of Microsoft and Yahoo if the software giant’s bid for the U.S. Internet company is successful. A source close to Alibaba, the Chinese Internet company part-owned by Yahoo Inc., said the company has hired advisers to help it negotiate for expanded management independence in the event its U.S. partner is acquired by Microsoft.
