Foster Wheeler - Ouch

Foster Wheeler dropped close to fifteen percent as the company’s results fell well below the Streets expectations.

According to Thomson Financial, the engineering and construction services company’s earnings rose 23.8% to $78.1 million, or 54 cents per share, from $63.1 million, or 44 cents per share, a year earlier. Sales jumped 25.0% to $1.5 billion from $1.2 billion. Excluding special items, the company said it earned $80.6 million, or 56 cents per share, down from $85.9 million, or 60 cents, a year ago. Despite the big jumps, they fell short of Wall Street’s predicted 76 cents per share on sales of $1.42 billion, on average.
